Getting more registrations from your own website
You have visitors. For most training providers, that's not the problem. The problem is that almost all those visitors leave without leaving anything behind, and you never get to hear why.
Advertising doesn't solve that. It makes the top of the funnel wider while the leak at the bottom remains, and from now on you're paying for both.
Where things go wrong between visit and lead
The remaining question someone has isn't on the page. Your course page answers the questions you find important: content, program, instructors, result. The visitor is stuck on something else. Whether they can manage it alongside their work. Whether their employer will reimburse this. Whether they can keep up with an mbo background. That kind of doubt is rarely on a page, because it doesn't sound like sales.
The form asks too much and promises too little. Name, email address, phone number, company, comments. In exchange, someone gets “we will contact you as soon as possible”. That is a high price for a vague promise, at the moment someone is still orienting.
The answer comes too late. Someone looks in the evening, you call the next afternoon. In the meantime, they have looked at three other providers and the urgency is gone. Speed of response does more for your conversion in this market than almost anything you change on the page itself.
You don't know what is missing. With a form, you only see who did fill it in. The hundred people who dropped off leave no trace, so you're improving your page based on gut feeling.
What you can do without building anything
1. Put the real questions on the page itself
Entry level, evening groups, incompany, subsidy, what the certificate is worth to employers. Pull them from your own inbox, not out of your head.
2. Make start dates and price visible
Even if you prefer to call first. A visitor who can't find the price assumes it's high and looks elsewhere.
3. Replace the form with a single question
One question and an email address is enough. The rest you can ask when you call.
4. Respond faster than you do now
If you call back within an hour on a lead that came in during the evening, you're ahead of almost everyone in this market.
What a comparison site does and doesn't solve for you
Platforms where students compare courses side-by-side bring you traffic, and for many training providers, a significant part of their leads. On the flip side, you pay per lead, that same visitor sees three competitors there too, and the comparison is often based on price instead of content.
What you capture on your own site costs you nothing extra and you don't have to share it with anyone. For most training providers, the question is not whether they should be on such a platform, but how many of their own visitors they are losing before they even start comparing.
When an assistant on your site makes sense
If you've done the above and a gap remains, that gap is usually in one place: the question someone is left with in the evening that no page answers.
An assistant that draws exclusively from your own material helps there. It answers that question in the moment, recognizes who is serious, asks for contact details itself, and sends the entire conversation to your colleague. You don't get an empty form but a lead with context, and you see in the overview which questions keep coming back. In the guide about AI for training providers it explains in more detail what is and isn't possible with that right now.
That's not necessary for everyone. If you have ten visitors per week, a good FAQ section is enough. If you get hundreds of visitors per month on a handful of course pages, then revenue is slipping through there every month that you never see.
